OSLO, NORWAY, 07.04.2022 - Aize has announced a strategic collaboration agreement with Aker BP (OSE: AKERBP), one of Europe’s largest independent oil and gas companies and a frontrunner within digitalisation, to develop and implement the Aize workspace to improve operations, maintenance and barrier management processes.
Aize is a cloud-based workspace that will allow Aker BP to visualise asset models in 2D or 3D and search and navigate through data. It will enable the company to collaborate internally and externally and orchestrate core processes within one shared workspace. Aize will be used in both project execution and asset operations, reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
'It's a pleasure to announce that Aker BP has entered a strategic agreement with Aize. Aize's workspace will provide a single source of truth for everyone involved, ensuring access to siloed data and enabling collaboration. Together with Aize and Cognite, Aker BP will build further on the investments and learnings from our digitalisation journey to build a digital twin for operations', said Ine Dolve, SVP of Operations & Asset Development at Aker BP.
The collaboration will initially focus on improving condition-based maintenance on both existing and new areas and managing barriers for all of the company's assets.
'This will create the foundation for an end-to-end operational model for the future in Aker BP, enabling us to operate even more efficiently. This agreement truly accelerates the important digitalisation efforts we have started', said Dolve.
As part of the agreement, Aize will match its in-house domain experts with subject matter experts in Aker BP that can help and challenge Aize to become a leading software provider in a complex industry. Both companies share the ambition to develop a product that scales across companies and industries.
'Since the inception of Aize, we have had a great relationship with Aker BP. Aker BP's ability to balance visionary, forward-looking thinking with a pragmatic and practical approach has always impressed me. We hope this forms the beginning of a longstanding partnership where Aize can, in collaboration with Cognite, further strengthen Aker BP's position as an industry frontrunner in digitalisation and efficient operations – and by association not only within the oil and gas sector,' said Jarle Skrebergene, CEO of Aize, adding:
'So far, we have piloted the Aize product with some of the largest energy companies in the world, we are making progress in fully digitalising project management through the NOA-Fulla project, and we are cementing partnerships in the renewables sector. These efforts create a strong foundation for building a workspace that will change how people work throughout the energy industry, further amplified with Aker BP's partnership.'
